Born into a grassroots racing family, Beau Borders’ earliest memories revolve around the white-knuckle world of motorsports. He grew up working on his father’s New Jersey based team competing in IMSA, Trans-AM and SCCA. His addiction to the sport was apparent from an early age and would ultimately go on to become his life’s greatest passion.
After honing his skills in the Skip Barber Racing Series, Beau spent years competing in as many Road Racing events as his bank balance could endure. His accolades include consistent SCCA National and US Majors Tour wins in the highly competitive Formula Mazda, F2000, and GT-1 Championships - with too many podiums to count. He has competed in the IMSA Continental Challenge, and is also the consecutive ARRC Champion at Road Atlanta (where he currently holds the lap record). He has won the notoriously grueling 25 Hours of Thunderhill in the E2 class, and finished third overall in a Factory Five GTM with Prototype Development Group in the same event. Beau was also crowned the 2015 US Touring Car Champion with the Life’s Good Racing team.
Beau’s racing career has been intertwined with his film career, which began at George Lucas’s famed Skywalker Ranch. Since that time, Beau has built a successful profession in Sound Mixing and Editing within the movie industry. He has collaborated on such box office hits as “Titanic”, “The Lord of the Rings” and “Lone Survivor”, for which Beau and his Mixing partners received Academy Award nominations for Sound Mixing in 2014.
For the current racing season Beau has been continuing his efforts in SCCA and the WERC, winning several sprint and endurance races across the US, and getting ready for the season-ending 25 Hour Race with the PDG4 Factory Five team. He was given the 2018 Driver of the Year award by the SCCA NorCal Region, and won both the NASA Western Endurance and SCCA T-2 Class Championships. He currently resides in Venice Beach, California.
