Winning the 2015 US Touring Car Championship was an absolute career high. But now it's over, and i'm looking ahead to the future for bigger and better achievements. So far i've got a pretty good plan in place with plenty of room for growth. Here's where Borders Racing is headed this season...
US TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP
I'll be back with Life's good Racing this season, but i'm switching from the black BMW M3 to the red all-wheel drive Mitsubishi Lancer. The main reason for the switch is to get me suited to the front-wheel drive Touring Cars that i'll be running in Germany (by the way, i'm headed to Germany!!). USTCC is an exciting and growing series, and i'm proud to be a part of it once again.
Because of our Championship win in the USTCC, the series is sending me to Germany to drive a TRC Car at the Oschersleben Circuit. I'll be driving during their race weekend in June, and I have plans with another team to drive the Nurburgring. There's no way I can travel all that way without tackling the Green Hell!!
FACTORY FIVE GTM PROTOTYPE
I was thrilled to be part of the 25 Hours of Thunderhill last season in a glorious beast of a race car. The team was an absolute joy to work with, and I was proud to put our car on the overall podium - especially when we witnessed the numerous high profile teams rolling off the other trucks. I'm definitely looking forward to getting behind the wheel of that car sometime soon.
RANDOM ACTS OF RACING
Any time the phone rings with an offer to drive, the answer is an immediate "yes". That's why i've already found myself at a LeMons race in Sonoma, and that is also why i'll be heading to Daytona in April for a 14 Hour enduro. Honestly i'll drive anything, anytime, anywhere.
